Profile

As a lawyer and the founder of Prime Law, I lead a firm dedicated to commercial litigation in Amsterdam. My practice covers contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, directors' liability and acquisition disputes — for claimants and defendants, nationally and internationally. In addition, I advise entrepreneurs on commercial agreements and corporate law matters.

My approach to a dispute is both legal and strategic: what does the client want to achieve, what risks and costs are involved, and what is the fastest route to that objective? That may be litigation — before the district court, the court of appeal, the Enterprise Chamber or in arbitration — or a well-founded settlement.

Particular areas of experience include the performance and rescission of contracts, the termination of long-term commercial relationships, disputes over share purchase agreements and warranty claims, and inquiry proceedings and immediate measures before the Enterprise Chamber.

Before founding Prime Law, I worked at Houthoff (Litigation & Arbitration) and AMS Advocaten in Amsterdam. At Maastricht University I studied law and obtained my LL.M. cum laude. I have been a practising lawyer since 2017, registered with the Netherlands Bar and a member of the Amsterdam Bar (A32021).

Recent public cases

A selection of published proceedings I have been involved in, spread across the areas of law in which I practise:

Corporate law and directors. The suspension of a director and of the control attached to priority shares in preliminary relief proceedings (ECLI:NL:RBDHA:2026:15713), and the annulment of a priority-share resolution for breach of Section 2:8 DCC (ECLI:NL:RBDHA:2025:23103).
Commercial contracts and performance. A dispute over the trade in and delivery of a limited edition of collectible cards (ECLI:NL:RBMNE:2025:933), and the repayment of loans and withdrawals in an asset dispute (ECLI:NL:GHDHA:2026:199).
Contracting of work. The termination of a contract for work before completion and its financial settlement on appeal (ECLI:NL:GHAMS:2026:336), and the compensation due on early termination (Section 7:764 DCC) (ECLI:NL:RBNHO:2023:10237).
Real estate. Non-conformity and breach of the duty to disclose in the purchase of an 1893 house, including the assessment of the loss (ECLI:NL:RBNHO:2023:10780, ECLI:NL:RBNHO:2024:6318).
Attachment and enforcement. An enforcement dispute over rent arrears and penalties for Section 7:290 business premises on appeal (ECLI:NL:GHAMS:2024:1889), and an enforcement dispute over an attachment under a settlement agreement (ECLI:NL:GHAMS:2022:1059).

Legal Practice Areas Register

In the Legal Practice Areas Register of the Netherlands Bar, I have registered the following areas of law:

Under this registration, I obtain at least ten training points per registered area of law each year.
